The Written Pitch Document or Series Bible - Articulating your TV series

It's all about making them feel like you do about a story that has to be told.

The Written Pitch Document/Series Bible is the most powerful tool to have when readying to meet producers.  It is a blueprint, not only of what your show is, but why and how it will have the staying power to go 100 episodes.

We compose a dazzling eight to ten page clear and concise document for your TV Pilot or story idea in order to gain interest in your script and project.

In a very conversational and executive friendly form this document will:

Lay out a precise Logline that not only states the title, what the show is, the form, the mythology and the genre but that will be so tight, original and provocative it will have them wanting you to embellish upon it.  The logline will not only describe the main character, their flaw, plight, stakes and give some hints of their outer and inner conflicts but will also have a great Overall Conceit built into it that will differentiate your show immediately from the hundreds of other premises that may deal with that subject or idea.

Enchant them with your brilliant Overview of the Show:  the premise, the summary, the concept:  The idea, where it came from, why you are writing it, why you have to, why it is timely and needs to be on the air and now.

Describe your Main Characters not only in who they are, their history and function, but how they will behave, be challenged and maybe even be changed (character arc) throughout the series.

Describe your Secondary Characters:  How they got there, how they tie in, their role and function.

Talk about the Tone of the show and getting specific as to what that looks like.  Tone is the distinct mood or atmosphere--as demonstrated by the consistent attitude on the page.  Perhaps a few comps tossed in here to illustrate the tone.  “It’s Sigmund Freud trapped in a Sandra Bullock movie and he can’t find his glasses”.

Embellish on The Series Hook and other Conceits:  What is cool, fresh, unique and timely about this project?  What is your angle or original take on your premise and your world that will set it apart from the others?

Illustrate just how your show can go on forever by demonstrating the endlessly repeatable Story Engine and the types of episodes viewers can expect week after week as per this world.

Include the Pilot Synopsis that  clearly demonstrates in "story-speak" all of the tenets we defined above in a very conversational, tonally accurate couple of paragraphs making it clear you can execute what you have been describing all along.

Other Episode Ideas.  A three to four sentence paragraph where you will now demonstrate the story engine and the endless supply of stories your series will produce.  Five or six episode ideas.

A one paragraph Wrap of the Show, but, now written from a sense that what is laid out is clear, marketable and understood.  This is the call to action for anyone interested in producing your series.

A skillfully drafted and concise Written Pitch Document is a major confidence builder as when you are this clear about what your series is and are able to get that across succinctly, you surely will have a leg up when you go up.
