Detailed Script Analysis - Mining the Gold
Okay, you have a draft and a lot of it is good but you have some questions. The notes and feedback you are getting doesn't always make sense and you are hearing so many different views and ideas. Time for clarity.
We are going to go all the way there with you and all the way back. It's execution on the page time. Are you ready to see how great you really are? We are going to look at everything, twice and twice again. We are going to break it down and build it up. We are going to show you, in a clear and consistent fashion and, in ways that will ring true to your vision and that initial jazzed feeling you had when you came up with this idea, where the gold is here and how to mine it. We are also going to make sure that who you are, that is, your take on this story--your unique writing voice is precisely woven in and shines through on every page. Here's how:
In great depth your script is assessed in the major vital areas of Story; Structure; Character and Relationships; Dialogue; Premise/Themes; and Genre Considerations.
These detailed notes will clearly discern what is working in your script and why, and what is not working and why not. We will then suggest several remedies and fixes and define just how and why these revision ideas will work.
Special attention is given to developing and honing your own unique voice; as it is your worldview, how you see things and express them that will then set this revised draft afire. Some of this is already in your work, however, it may be incomplete in some regards or inconsistent. You will now see this and fix it.
For a screenplay the analysis includes a Cover Sheet, a Logline, a Premise Paragraph, 1-2 page Synopsis, 8-10 pages of Comments and a Summary Paragraph.
If it is a TV Pilot, the analysis includes a premise paragraph as well as 6-8 pages of "Studio Notes" but we also concentrate on the concerns that demonstrate the show has "staying power" and this series can run for several seasons.
One on one phone consultations are offered to clarify anything on the analysis as well as E-mail correspondence as needed. (Sample "Detailed Analysis" for a screenplay below).
