BIO: Terry McFadden is an award-winning writer, script doctor, filmmaker, and story consultant with more than 20 years of experience in film and television development.
He specializes in helping producers, filmmakers, actors, and writers strengthen scripts, elevate dialogue, and bring the writer’s unique voice fully to the page.
Terry began his career as a professional story analyst in 1998, working with production companies, studios, and independent filmmakers before founding his own company, Story Builders. Over the years, he has analyzed, edited, and helped develop hundreds of screenplays, television pilots, and production-track materials.
As a development consultant, Terry evaluates projects under consideration for financing and production, providing the critical analysis and actionable notes that help executives and creators decide how to move a project forward.
His extensive track record includes script development and story analysis on projects by master storytellers like Jonathan Demme, Mike White, Charlie Kaufman, and Jon Robin Baitz, as well as films involving top-tier talent such as Al Pacino, Julia Roberts, Michael Keaton, Drew Barrymore, and Sam Rockwell.
Bringing a deep understanding of live performance to his structural work, Terry is also an accomplished playwright whose work has been produced over 100 times domestically and internationally, earning him the Raymond J. Flores Award for Best One-Act Play.
